This post is part of the Scintillating Sunday hop featuring eight paragraphs, sentences, or words. For me, I am sharing paragraphs from my upcoming book, the first in the SEALs and Angels series–Viper.

Ainsley Matthews used to have flight down to a science but when danger comes hunting for her this time it is going to take one strong Navy SEAL to save her from this enemy. Can Scott Merit use his skills to help Ainsley have another day above ground? Or will a formidable enemy deliver the poisonous bite that will claim her life?

His gaze was tight, like a tiger ready to strike the prey daring to encroach on his territory. What could she say? She wasn’t sorry. Or was she?

“I’m…sorry, Scott. I wasn’t going to take it that far and I promise I wouldn’t have taken it any farther than what I did. I’m sorry.”

“Are you?” His voice was tight. It didn’t sound so much as a question he needed an answer to because she was sure he didn’t believe she was. He yanked her head back as he sat up and his lips went to her neck—not just a gentle kiss but a hard suck as if he were marking his territory.

“Scott,” she gasped.

“I don’t think you’re sorry, baby. Don’t lie to me.”

“I…oh goodness,” she moaned as he trailed kisses down her neck to her shoulder and then sucked hard right over the shoulder bone.

“Turnabout is fair play, baby. You can’t wake a man up and then kiss him, his body, without feeling the ache you just caused him.” He used his free hand to yank her soft tank top down from her breasts. His lips trailed down to her right breast where he kissed, licked, sucked.

“Oh my God! Scott!” Oh yes, she had gotten herself in trouble—big time. But this was such a delicious line of trouble she didn’t want it to stop.

Viper is coming soon in e-book on Amazon and Barnes and Noble; print on Lulu (print).
