So you’ve made it there and finally published your book. Maybe you found a publishing company and inked a deal or you went Indie. Either way, your work is out there for all to see should they want to buy it. Everybody is going to love it and talk about it right? Wrong.
As they always say take things with a grain of salt. Take something useful from it and move on.
If you’re going to write make sure you love what you do. If you’re going to publish make sure you really love what you do. Put the book out when you believe in it. If you’re proud of it then that’s really all that matters because you gave it your best and your all. Some people will like it, some will hate it. But as they say, one man’s trash might be another man’s treasure; don’t get disheartened. If you’re going to read every review, take them all with a grain of salt. Take something useful from them, if there is something useful there, and keep it moving.
That was a week on editing. Next week, starting Sunday, I’ll be talking about another aspect of the writing world I know. Be sure to come back and as always, drop me a message via the contact form about topics you might want to see discussed and I will try to work them in.
That’s all for this time. More Dish next week, same time, same place.
