“What?” Her hesitant voice surely conveyed her confusion as he rounded the desk and came to stand behind her. She started to turn to face him, but he put his hands on her shoulders and kept her facing the door. And then, like magic, he started massaging her aching muscles. After the grueling training session he had today she should have been giving him the massage.

“Oh that feels so good,” she moaned.

“Does it really?” His voice was low and seductive. She knew she should push him away and put things back to business as usual, but it felt too good to send him back to his chair that he had abandoned for her body.

“You know it does.” Her voice was laced with more than just the good feelings of her sore muscles being worked to a relaxed state. She was turned on—highly turned on—by such a simple action as a massage.

“Why don’t you come back to my place and let me give you a full body massage.”

The hint of sex in his words hadn’t eluded her. She wanted it so much, but they couldn’t. “Um…I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“Why not?”

“I think you already know why.”

“You want me, Raven. I can feel it.”

“That’s not the point.”

“It is to me. Do you want Detrick or something?”

“No!” She settled her tone. “No. I want you, but things could get messy and I can’t afford that. I can’t afford for you guys to be at each other’s throat, and neither can you.”

“He’s a professional; I’m a professional. It won’t get in the way.” He spun her chair around to face him. Then he took hold of her arms and pulled her out the chair before kicking her chair to the side. It banged against the file cabinet with a heavy thud. “You want me. I want you. And I’m done waiting.”

What a great tease. Leave it to a woman to mess up a man’s life. Love what I read. Keep writing so I can keep reading.
